Space Colony Necronom VI

Your place for abductions, slave trade and monsters

In the midst of the general sleep cycle of most people on Space Colony Necronom, very few crew are at a station. Just those needed to run and monitor the basic functions. It's these few, that get the sight of a lifetime. An alarm rings off, letting them know that a ship, or ships are approaching from warp space. The warp portal that opens however, is vastly larger than any they had previously seen. And in moments, thousands of ships of various sizes begin to pour out. These ships were far more advanced than any species they had encountered in this area before. There was no communication. They swarmed without warninb, surrounding the station. A sultry female voice came over the station intercom as the system was hacked. "Prepare to be boarded. Hostility towards us will be met with the same in kind." The intercom went dead as a few large ships moved within range to send their supposed boarding parties. Then came the sight that had the crew feel that cold chill of fear run their spine. Another warp field opened. This one dwarfed the first. A ship that could easily hold three times the population of earth slowly moved through. Whatever this species wanted, games were not among them it seemed.

There you have the basic idea of the size of the forces taking over. Now, many will move away to begintheir goal of striking at the UGE without mercy. Over the course of time, more and more will follow, which could leave the defenses around station enough to be handled. This will all begin tomorrow afternoon, I'll post here at it's start.

Thousands of invading ships? A ship with a 19.5 billion passenger capacity? (That's no ship. It's a small moon!) [voice=Bill_Paxton]That's it. It's over, man! Game over![/voice] All joking aside, I don't see either their need for our station, or any way we can even hope to defeat them. Ever. I was expecting something tough. Not impossible.

But if it's just about UCE and not Necornom... It's not like billion things can fit to necoronom. A scrap ready station ;)

Okay, I'm in. But I'm not cooking for 9.5 billion.

Indeed, the idea is, a few of their upper commanders, and a sizable but not immense force will holdthe station, which is a good place for them to hold out while they direct the war against the UGE, for Unity. I apologize for not being around much this weekend, real life bit me in the ass.

What is the UGE? People need to stop adding acronyms with U and E in them, geez.

After some time to think about it, I talked with Dayne and currently I feel Necronom could use more time to rebuild and get everyone syncronised before we can handle such a big event.

So we decided to postpone the event until such a time Necro can be all win, again. x3

My appologies to anyone who was looking forward to it, but don't worry. Good things just take time. :3

Thanks,

How about getting crew rebuild first? Note that you can play sidestories and maybe scounting forays before actual invasion. It's not things with that magnitude come from clear sky?

Oh, there is definately progress which is easily visible to those who frequent the station. Infact I've had the best two days of roleplay that I've had in the longest time, and there was plenty of people to boot. But that doesn't mean Necro is ready..

Even with people returning, how can they have time to adjust into things when they show up in the middle of an invasion? That would be pretty.. overwhelming, to say the least.

And frankly, people wouldn't want to come unless there's a functioning sim. That is what I'm focussing on, getting things back up and running.

Baby steps, no need to rush things. x3

My own personal view here, whilst I agree postponing it would be a bit of a good idea I personally disagree with holding it back until Necronoms rebuilt. For Necronom to actully be considered back to normal it's going to need the people and the people won't come unless something sparks intrest. The storyline is something new it would spark the intrest of quite a few people but a few is better than none right? I persoanlly would have postponed it a week or two, let word spread of the idea and hopfully encourage people to come and get involved rather than wait for numbers to get back up before letting the story start.
